Steven Spielberg

After directing the feature films Jaws (1975), Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), Steven Spielberg created one of the most memorable alien sci-fi movies of all time. The aesthetics from ‘E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial’ was mostly influenced by ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ but the themes were more in tune with family audiences.

Cinematography

Allen Daviau was the cinematographer in this movie. He helped Spielberg create the mysterious and anticipating scenes by the use of fog machines, coloured lights, camera angles and the placement of characters.

What makes this movie stay deep in people’s hearts is the genius scoring by composer John Williams who also composed the main themes to Star Wars, Jarassic Park, Home Alone, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter and many more iconic movies.
